St. Joseph's Cathedral was built in 1886 and was one of the first major Catholic buildings in French Indochina. The building's architecture was inspired by famous European cathedrals and is particularly reminiscent of Notre Dame in Paris.

The cathedral's main feature is its two tall towers, which rise above the surrounding urban development. The façade is decorated with Gothic elements, arches, and decorative details typical of 19th-century European religious architecture.

The cathedral's interior is more subdued, yet blends European and Vietnamese religious traditions. Beautiful stained-glass windows, an altar, and religious artwork are featured here.

The square in front of the cathedral is a popular meeting place for both tourists and locals. The surrounding cafes, restaurants, and small shops create the unique atmosphere of Hanoi's historic center.

Today, St. Joseph's Cathedral remains not only a religious site, but also an important part of the city's architectural heritage, reflecting the influence of the French period on the development of Vietnam's capital.
