Telecom operators require data updates by August 15.08

Vietnamese mobile operators (Viettel, Mobifone, Vinaphone) are sending out mass text messages demanding subscribers update their personal data at the nearest mobile phone store. The deadline is August 15, 2026. Failure to do so may result in the number being blocked or restricted. For foreigners, this means visiting the operator's office with your passport and updating your linked data in person. Online access is not available.

VIETNAM HEAT: PREPARE FOR HIGH ELECTRICITY PRICES

Vietnam is in the midst of a heat wave, and electricity consumption is breaking all records. Apartment air conditioners are working hard and often simply can't cope. Cooling a room to 16–18°C (61–64°F) can double or triple your electricity bill this month. To avoid overpaying, set the temperature to 25°C (77°F), use Eco mode, and use a regular fan to help.
