Phu Quoc is Vietnam's most beautiful island , located in the Gulf of Thailand. It covers an area of 574 square kilometers and has a coastline of 150 kilometers . The island is known for its picturesque beaches, tropical forests, and mountain ranges.
🌈Climatic features :
Dry season (November – April): The ideal time to visit. Average temperatures are 27–28°C , and infections are low. During this time, the sea is calm and the water is clear, making it ideal for beach holidays and diving.
Rainy season (May–October): Characterized by occasional downpours, especially in September and October. Strong waves are possible on the west coast, while murky waters on the east coast can make swimming conditions difficult.
Transitional period (late October): The weather is unstable, with alternating sunshine and rain. Temperatures remain around 25–28°C.

For beach holidays and activities, choose the dry season (November to April). If you prefer fewer tourists and are prepared for the occasional rain, you can adjust the transition period.

General description: A large theme park in the northern part of the island, styled after Venice. It's a town with amenities, bridges, and Italian architecture. It's quiet during the day, but comes alive in the evening: the lights come on, shows take place, and restaurants open.
For: family, me, anyone who wants parks, shows, and clear infrastructure “at hand.”
Strengths: Entertainment clusters; smooth promenades; easy to plan a "park → dinner → show" day.
Weaknesses: tourist flow; highest prices on the island; evening traffic jams on the way out; beaches are decided on a specific area.
Logistics: Taxi/Grab to the northern cluster; VinBus connects to the center/airport, as well as to Vinpearl Safari and VinWonders; Inside, you can walk, and buses run throughout the area.
Accommodation: 3*–5* resorts/hotels, apartments in new neighborhoods; many family rooms.

Massage: There are several salons (prices from 370,000 dong for legs, 590,000 for body).
Supermarkets: There are several options with good prices for the area, as well as a large ZMART 3 SUPER MARKET just outside of town.
SUP and Kayak Club: For active recreation on the water.
Transportation: Free buses operate throughout the area. Check the schedule and route in the VinBus app.
Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc: Wildlife Encounter
This is the first and only open zoo in Vietnam where animals live in semi-wild conditions.

💥Tips for visiting:
Lemurs: Arrive at opening time (around 9:20) to feed them (food costs 30,000 dong). They are very friendly and handle their food carefully.
Bird Show: Starts at 10:00 AM (repeat at 14:00 PM). Arrive early to secure the best seats. At the end, you can take a free photo with the eagle and parrots.
Tiger and lion feeding: 10:45-11:00. Not the most spectacular, but on the way.
Feeding the giraffes: Bring some chopped carrots (you can add them to a cup later). Feedings are usually before lunch.
Elephants: You can't feed them, sell them, or carry your own.
Bus Safari: Takes 10-15 minutes + queue.
Lunch: Near the giraffes or at another cafe on the premises.
Photos with animals: Until 2:00 pm in the children's area and poultry farm (50,000-100,000 VND).
Transportation around the zoo: Golf cart (100,000 VND/person) or on foot. VIP tours with a guide and cart are available (1,500,000 VND for 1-5 people).
Aboriginal dances: Entrance at 9:20, 11:20 and 15:30.
All animal activity ends around 15:20 PM, the zoo closes at 16:00 PM.
VinWonders Phu Quoc: Wonderland Adventure Park
VinWonders is a popular theme park in Vietnam, featuring amusement rides, water parks, aquariums and entertainment shows.

✨Tips for visiting:
Fountain shows: Daily at 11:30 AM, 2:00 PM, and 3:30 PM. The main and most impressive show is at 6:45 PM . Arrive early; two or three rows will provide the most exciting experience!
Oceanarium: Fish feeding at 11:00 AM. Mermaid shows at 14:00 PM and 15:30 PM – skip them if you don't like crowds. The aquarium itself takes about 30 minutes to explore.
Attractions: There's a Ferris wheel, roller coasters (both indoor and outdoor), and water slides. Some rides may be under renovation, but they're usually open during peak season. There's a toddler area.
Water Park: A great water park with a kids' area and free-fall slides. Barefoot access is allowed.
Greetings and dancing: At the entrance at 9:30, 15:30, 17:00. Tropical dance in the wave pool in the water park at 16:00 or 16:30.
2. Area: Sunset Town.
Best for: couples/romantics, "beautiful shots", cable car and An Thoi Island enthusiasts.
Strengths: Mediterranean neighborhoods, Kiss Bridge, Hon Thom cable car, Khem/Sao beaches.
Weaknesses: at peak times, the embankment is crowded; part of the coastline is reserved for hotels; prices are higher.
Logistics: Capture between neighborhoods and beaches; for An Thoi (boats) - better to base nearby
Accommodation: resorts in the bay, apartments in the neighborhoods; there is a villa.
General description: A modern Italian-style town on the southwestern islands. An ideal place for romantic strolls and photos. It's vibrant during the day and vibrant in the evening.

3. District: Ong Lang (a quiet village for a relaxing holiday)
For: winterers/expats, families with children, introverts, remote workers.
Strengths: intimate beach pockets, gardens, sunsets, boutique villas; less noise at night.
Weaknesses: fewer services within walking distance; roads are narrow/unpaved in places; without a bike/car – average.
Logistics: 15–25 minutes to the center; bike/car is the answer; you can rent a car, but the wait is longer. To get around the island, we recommend renting a bike or using the free buses.
Accommodation: villas/houses, boutique hotels, apartments in small complexes.
General description: A quiet, authentic village on the west coast. Ideal for those seeking privacy and a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle. The infrastructure is modest, the beaches are clean.

🕶What to do and see:
Ong Lang Beach: A small, private stretch of beach. Part of the property is owned by the Grand Ocean Hotel, but access is free. Sun loungers are available for a fee (approximately 200 VND). Link
Atmosphere: Quiet and peaceful. The streets are poorly lit in the evenings, stray dogs (non-aggressive) are common , and there may be trash in places. Locals keep chickens and cows.

4. Area: Long Beach (Duong Dong)
For: first visit, gastronomy/markets, “business + beach”, first trip.
Strengths: best logistics on the island; night market; choice of cafes/services; long edge of Long Beach.
Cons: Noisier; front row seating is crowded; not all of Long Beach is "pastel"—choose a sector.
Logistics: 10-20 minutes from the airport; Take either side; VinBus in the north; walk to the center/promenade.
Accommodation: from simple guests to branded hotels; many "second lines" with peace and quiet.
General description: Phu Quoc's main tourist center with the most developed infrastructure. The central town is Duong Dong. It has the largest number of hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, and massage parlors.

🥽What to do and see:
Beach: A long sandy strip. The water is cleaner in the southern part, closer to the airport. Hotels and cafes offer sun loungers (often free at a table).
Central Night Market: Noisy and discreet, but the food isn't always the best. Be sure to try the frog legs at Chao Ech Singapore, at the end of the market. When is the market crowded? 19:00–20:30 PM. Arrive at 18:30 PM for a wider selection and time for bargaining. Market link
- Fukuoka Day Market This is a place for locals, not a tourist attraction. It's best to come here between 7 and 9:30 a.m., when the fresh catch arrives and prices haven't had a chance to rise. Here you can buy live lobsters, crabs, and shrimp, which will be cooked right away on the nearby grills. Vietnamese spices, dried seafood, and local coffee are also a good deal here—the prices are two to three times lower than in souvenir shops. Link to the market

Tours and services: Russian-language travel agency Alisa Link , where you can buy discounted tickets, exchange money, and buy a SIM card.
Food: An incredible selection for every taste and budget, from street food to seafood restaurants. Where to grab a quiet bite to eat by the water? The second line past Long Beach, the streets parallel to the waterfront. Late dinner after 21:30 PM? Bars/cafes within cafes and "night kitchens" around the market. Be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes.

5. Neighborhood: Sonasea
For: families and "lazy" vacationers who want the embankment within walking distance: cafes, market street, massage, children's area.
Strengths: a long stretch of Bai Trong with a smooth entry into the water, a promenade with food and basic services, and many 3-5* hotels. Sunset front.
Weaknesses: popular location—crowded at peak times; part of the "tourist" education system with average quality; music in the evenings, occasional stall setups.
Logistics: 10-15 minutes from the airport; Grab is easy to find; VinBus runs along the highway; walking within the cluster is comfortable.
Accommodation: Novotel-level and neighboring aparthotels and family resorts; many rooms with kitchenettes.
General description: A district of five-star hotels and luxury villas on the west coast. The infrastructure is centered around the local night market. It's clean, quiet, and modern.

Beach: The beach opposite the hotel is clean and well-maintained. Sun loungers are available for rent (from 100,000 VND). The wild part of the beach can be sandy.

6. Area: Marina
For: couples and aesthetes who want "beautiful and comfortable": flagship hotels, first-line bars, smooth infrastructure.
Strengths: top resorts ( InterContinental , Regent ), club front ( Sailing Club ), strong sunsets, neat promenades, fast taxi to the center.
Weaknesses: Higher average bill; beach and restaurants are decorated during prime time; some venues require a dress code/reservations.
Logistics: 10–20 minutes from the airport to the city center; Grab a steady stream; it's best to plan an evening departure before the peak.
Accommodation: upper mid-range and luxury, designer boutiques; daytime access to some properties (convenient for "live in one, walk in another").
General Description: Neighboring the Sonasea area, it also focuses on comfortable relaxation. It offers both premium hotels and many budget accommodations with access to a large communal pool.

7. Area: Khem Beach (Khem Beach).

Strengths: white sand, well-maintained coastline, protection from waves, proximity to An Thoi and the cable car to Hon Thom.
Weaknesses: Infrastructure is often limited by resort regulations; there is little natural shade; during prime season, "prime spots" are occupied by guests and hotels.
Logistics: 25–35 minutes from the airport; taxi/walking connections within; convenient to combine with San Francisco / Sunset Town in one day.

General description: One of the most picturesque and tranquil beaches on the southeastern tip of Phu Quoc. Known for its pristine white sand, turquoise water, and gently sloping sea. Transport accessibility:
A free shuttle bus runs regularly from Sunset Town to Khem Gang (approximately 30 minutes for doctors from 9:00 AM to 13:00 PM, then every hour until 17:00 PM, and again every 30 minutes for doctors from 18:00 PM to 22:00 PM). The stop is near the cable car.
You can get there by taxi or rented bike.
8. East Coast: Authentic Vietnam.
For whom: solitude, nature, “to go and switch off.”
Strengths: sparsely populated strips, mangrove areas, "island feel".
Weaknesses: service is poor; connection is weak in places; uncomfortable without transport.
Logistics: plan on a bike/car; return west/center in the evening.

General description: Phu Quoc's east coast is the true essence of Vietnamese urban life, unadorned. There are no luxurious resorts or organized tourism industry here. Instead, expect traditional fishing villages, wild mangroves, quiet beaches with simple lounge chairs, and rustic restaurants where the fresh catch is brought straight from the boats. This is the perfect place to experience a less touristy Vietnam and sample the freshest seafood.
Key locations on the East Coast:
🏕1. Ham Ninh Village ( Map Link )
Description: One of the island's old fishing villages. The main attraction is the long pier extending into the sea. Fishermen come here early in the morning with their catch. This isn't a tourist show; this is real life.
What to do: Stroll along the pier, watch local life from a crab boat, buy shrimp or sea urchin, which will be cooked for you right there in one of the simple restaurants on the water.
Food: The restaurants on the pier are famous for their seafood dishes , especially crab ham ninh (cua Ham Ninh ) and squid noodles.

✅Helpful tips for visiting the East Coast:
Transportation: Public transportation is almost nonexistent here. The best way to get east is to rent a bike or car. A taxi will be significantly more expensive.
Cash: Be sure to bring Vietnamese dong (VND) with you . Cards are rarely accepted, only in the largest restaurants.
Attitude: Don't expect luxury service. Everything here is simple, authentic, and rustic. Appreciate the experience.
Sunset: On the east coast, you won't see the sunset over the sea (it sets in the west). But the soft evening light and views of fishing boats create an equally beautiful atmosphere.
9. Northern Islands: Wildlife and the Border with Cambodia.
For: Adventure seekers, wildlife enthusiasts, photographers and anyone who wants to be at one with the sea.
Strengths: Complete solitude and a sense of "world's end." Untouched, wild nature, rocky shores. Unique natural phenomena (starfish clusters).
Weaknesses: Minimal traffic (there are exceptions). Cafes and guesthouses are very basic. Getting there is more difficult than the east coast. The beaches are often rocky, not always suitable for traditional swimming. Accidents involving rocks do occur.
Logistics: Only accessible by rented bike or car. It's an ideal daily destination.
🏡Accommodation: A few simple guesthouses and bungalows. For a comfortable stay, it's better to stay in other areas.
🏕1. Rach Vem Village ( Map Link )
Description: Known as "Starfish Village," this tranquil spot features a long observation pier and a shallow sandy bottom where, at low tide, you can spot as many as ten starfish.
What to do: Arrive at low tide (check the time!) to observe and photograph starfish in their natural habitat (just don't pull them out of the water!). Settle into one of the simple bungalow-restaurants on the shore, perched on stilts just above the water's edge.
Food: Fresh seafood, picked from the platters. Grilled oysters and scallops are especially good.
🌊2. Ganh Dau Bay ( Map Link )
Description: The northwestern tip of the island, near the Cambodian border. The beach here is wilder and rockier, with picturesque boulders. Views of the Cambodian islands.
What to do: Relax, photograph the rocky coastline, and watch the fishing boats. This place is rarely visited by tourists and is completely tranquil.
Food: Several simple seafood restaurants overlooking the bay.

Disadvantages: Requires a full day; boat trips can be uncomfortable in high waves (May-October); popular islands are crowded during high season; infrastructure is minimal (restrooms only on Hon Thom).
Logistics: All tours depart from An Thoi Harbour (the southern tip of the island, 25-30 km from Duong Dong, 20 km from the airport). Transfers are usually included in the tour price from the central areas. The cable car departs from Anh Duong Station to Sunset Town.
Accommodation: For regular trips to the islands, it's convenient to base yourself in the Sunset Town , Khem Beach , or southern Long Beach areas . These areas are closer to the port and cable car.

The An Thoi Archipelago consists of 15 islands of varying sizes located off the southern coast of Phu Quoc. Three of them are inhabited: Hon Thom (Pineapple Island), Hon Roi , and Hon May Rut . The total land area is 7.2 km².
