QR code for entry into Vietnam (2026)

Starting June 22, 2026, every foreign citizen arriving in Vietnam must complete a Pre-Arrival Information (PAI) form in advance and receive a QR code. Completing the form is free and takes approximately 5-10 minutes.

  • Applications can be submitted no earlier than 72 hours before arrival.
  • The service is completely free.
  • All foreigners must complete this form, including visa-free tourists and e-visa holders.
  • Each passenger, including children, requires a separate QR code.
  • Once completed, you will receive a PDF with a QR code by email.

When it works

The system began to be implemented in the spring of 2026 and became mandatory for all international airports in Vietnam from June 22, 2026.

Major airports:

  • Ho Chi Minh City (SGN)
  • Hanoi (HAN)
  • Da Nang (DAD)
  • Cam Ranh (CXR)
  • Phu Quoc (PQC)
  • Can Tho (VCA)
  • Haiphong (HPH)
  • Vandon (VDO)

At the moment, the rule only applies to air travel.

Who is required to fill out

Fill in:

  • Tourists on a visa-free regime
  • e-visa holders
  • Holders of ordinary visas
  • Children of any age

Do not fill in:

  • Vietnamese citizens entering with a Vietnamese passport
  • Transit passengers without border control
  • Diplomats and transport crews

What to prepare in advance

  1. International passport (valid for at least 6 months).
  2. Air ticket.
  3. Residential address in Vietnam in Latin characters.
  4. Valid email.
  5. Telephone in international format.
  6. E-visa number (if available).

Important: Any websites that ask for payment for a QR code are intermediaries or scams. Filling out the code on the official portal is free.

How to fill out

Step 1: Open the form

Go to the official website and click the submit arrival information button.

Step 2. Enter your passport details

Please specify:

  • Passport ID
  • Name
  • First name
  • Citizenship
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Country of birth
  • Passport issue and expiration dates

Step 3. Contact information

Please specify:

  • Email
  • Phone

Step 4. Trip details

Please specify:

  • Purpose of the visit
  • duration of stay
  • Country of departure
  • Arrival date
  • Flight number
  • Arrival airport

Step 5. Residential address

Enter your residential address in Vietnam in Latin characters.

Step 6. Visa

If you have an e-visa or other visa, please provide its number and expiration date. Visa-free travelers skip this section.

Step 7. Submitting the form

Confirm your consent to data processing, enter the captcha, and submit your application. Once processed, you will receive a PDF with a QR code via email.

What to do with a QR code

It is recommended to save:

  • PDF file on your phone
  • Screenshot of the QR code
  • Paper copy

When passing through passport control, show the QR code to the immigration officer.

Possible mistakes

Submission too early — the form was submitted less than 72 hours before arrival.

Invalid passport number — error in the passport number.

Invalid date — invalid date format.

Invalid email — error in email.

The address is not accepted - please use Latin characters.
