Holidays in Vietnam in 2025
A holiday in Vietnam is not just moving from point A to point B, it is a journey into a world where dreams of the tropics, beaches and wild nature come together in one place. In this country, each season is a separate performance with its own climatic character, and your entire holiday depends on which “act” you want to see.
Climate diversity
Vietnam is a thin rope of climate, stretched from the subtropical north to the tropical south. In the south there is eternal summer, delightfully warm and generous with gentle sun. The north and center are slightly capricious intellectuals: in winter they can throw in some coolness, and in summer – hot days with rainy flashes. Mountain ranges add spices to this climate salad, sometimes covering the peaks with snow.
Rainy Season: Witch with a Winged Broom
The rainy season is like an invitation to an exclusive tropical storm screening. In the south ( Phan Thiet, Mui Ne, Phu Quoc, Vung Tau ), it usually occurs from May to November. Humidity, short but fierce downpours, and a fresh wind – the atmosphere resembles a dance of the elements.
Some people run away from this “show”, while others, on the contrary, get a thrill from bathing in the streams of warm tropical rain.

In the center ( Da Nang, Hue, Hoi An ), rains shift to December-April, bringing cool, damp weather and frequent, albeit short, showers. Here, in winter, the thermometer behaves like a shy introvert: they promise +25°C, but in reality it feels like +10…+15°C. The beaches are stormy, red flags flutter nervously in the wind, and in an unheated hotel you want to wrap yourself in three blankets. But sometimes nature gifts you with a couple of sunny days, reminding you that behind the curtain of rain there's always a reason to take a walk.
In the north, the wet season lasts from April to November. Rain is a frequent visitor here, even in winter. Hanoi can be unexpectedly cold and damp, while Ha Long Bay can be sunny but cool in the morning. If you're planning a visit during this time, dress appropriately to withstand the weather.
Beach Relaxation: When is the Perfect Time to Relax?
The best beach season in the south is winter and spring (December-April), when the air is dry, the sun is generous, and tourists from all over the world flock to these shores. In spring, warm weather begins throughout the country, and if you're looking for a heavenly beach chill, head to the central regions in May-July. It's during this period that Da Nang and Nha Trang glow with sunshine and hospitality.

Vacation Prices: Money Under the Sun's Carpet
Due to the lack of charters, flights may require transfers, which increases the cost. Tours from Moscow to Phan Thiet or Nha Trang for 11 nights start at 170 ₽, and to Phu Quoc - from 000 ₽. Independent flights are also not cheap: direct to Ho Chi Minh - from 190 ₽, and to Nha Trang or Phu Quoc - even more.
Fruit season in Vietnam
Even Thailand would envy Vietnam's abundance of fruit. Mango and jackfruit season begins in March and lasts until summer. Avocados, rambutans , and lychees appear in April, and mangosteens arrive in early summer . Citrons and cherimoya ripen in June , tropical plums in July , and persimmons in August.
The season for these fruits is not very long - only 3-4 months, and they can be found on sale until the end of the calendar autumn.

In November, the first winter fruits appear - local tangerines, in December - star apples. Durians also appear in January, but the season for these exotic fruits is much longer and continues until October. The most delicious longan ripens from May to July, but you can buy it at any time of the year.
When to go by month – a short guide
- December: The north is cool, the center is wet and warm, the south is clear and dry. The best New Year's toast is under the southern sun.
- January – February: The north is chilly, the center is a little warmer and drier, while in the south there is an ideal beach situation, +32°C and a steamy sea.
- March – April: Star months for rest: the south and the center are at the zenith of beauty. Hot, sunny, the sea is gentle – take a surfboard or a sun lounger.
- May: The rainy season is already knocking, but you can still snatch dry days for beach relaxation.
- June – August: The south and north are immersed in tropical rain, but the center is your oasis. Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue, and Hoi An are excellent options for a summer escape.
- September – October: In the north the rains have died down, but in the center the thunderstorm sounds like a war horn. In the south there may still be short showers.
- November: The north is blessed with dry and clear weather, in the center the risk of typhoons is still high, and on Phu Quoc Island it is hot and comfortable.
