Nha Trang announces Sea Festival 2026 with an expected attendance of up to 800,000 guests
NHA TRANG , Vietnam — Khanh Hoa Province has announced preparations for the 2026 Sea Festival (Lễ hội Biển) in the coastal city of Nha Trang. According to the announcement, the resort will host approximately 30 cultural, sporting, and tourist events this July, with organizers expecting up to 800,000 visitors. The festival traditionally includes street parades, water sports, concerts, and food fairs, aimed at stimulating summer tourism.
The scale of the event, announced by provincial authorities, intensifies competition between two key tourist hubs in Central Vietnam. Nha Trang's main rival for summer crowds remains Da Nang, the region's largest city. Da Nang annually hosts the International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) , which in previous years has been held in June and July and attracted thousands of people. Nha Trang and Da Nang offer different holiday experiences. Nha Trang emphasizes beach infrastructure and island tourism, including the VinWonders amusement park on Hon Tre Island. The climate in both destinations is similar in July: daytime temperatures range from 28–33°C, and the monsoon season begins.
If the Sea Festival 2026 organizers' forecast of 800,000 attendees is confirmed, the event will become one of the largest summer tourism events in Vietnam.
