Sunset Sanato beach Club (Dali Elephants), Long Beach, Phu Quoc, Vietnam.
You've probably heard about the famous rave festival KaZantip, which took place in Crimea from 1993 to 2013.
Then the well-known events in Crimea happened and it became impossible to hold the festival there. There were attempts to organize this festival in other countries - in 2014 it was held in Georgia, then it was supposed to be held in Cambodia in 2015, but at the last moment the authorities revoked the permission for the festival.
The festival wasn't held in 2016, but in 2017 it was held on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam ! What a surprise 😅
The festival was held here for 4 years in a row - from 2017 to 2020, under the name EpiZode.
Then Covid came along, which completely ruined everything and since then the festival has not been held again.
But the territory where EpiZode took place is still in demand.
Mainly because of these famous Dali elephants 😍
Everyone comes to take pictures of them and with them at sunset.
At one time I so dreamed of getting to Kazantip, if only you knew!
I had a friend who hitchhiked to this festival in Crimea from Uzbekistan with a yellow suitcase (the symbol of Kazantip)!
At that time it seemed like a super incredible adventure to me, which I couldn’t afford 🥲😥 The lack of money made Kazantip an unattainable dream for me 😥
That's why when I found out that EpiZode (the successor to Kazantip) was taking place in Fukuoka, I really wanted to visit at least the place where this festival once took place ☺️
This place is closed, belongs to the hotel of the same name Sunset Sanato Resort and you have to pay for entrance.
Entrance to the beach club costs 100 thousand dong ($4) per person.
But the place looks very tired, just look at the cash desk located in a container 😳
Having bought entrance cards (which were immediately taken away at the entrance), we entered the beach area with installations.
All the installations are also very shabby, the stage is completely broken, they even fenced it off so that no one gets killed there.
We spent time in this beach club from lunch until evening.
There is a huge restaurant on the territory, but inside there is only a bar with drinks, no food. As we understood, this pavilion is used as a breakfast area for the resort guests - at 12 the employees were just cleaning the food containers from the buffet tables.
But this pavilion has sockets for remote workers 😁😎
Sockets and cocktails - that's all we need 😅
Further along the beach there is another Italian cafe called Solar Pizza, the prices are high, but at least they have food.
When we were driving, we took Vietnamese baguettes and sandwiches 'banh mi' with us on the way, and we had a snack with them 😀😅
In addition, you can sit right on the beach - at the bar, at tables on the sand or on sun loungers. You don't have to pay extra for sun loungers.
There were very few people during the day, only about 15 people.
By the evening the atmosphere became livelier - they turned on loud music, brought 3 buses of Vietnamese tourists and it became impossible to squeeze through near the elephants 😀
Overall, you can go there once just for the sake of elephants at sunset, but otherwise the place really needs an upgrade and looks really tired of this life))
But personally I liked it, I really wanted to see these elephants ☺️😍🐘
And the sand on this beach 'sings' under your feet! I've never heard such a sound before, so far I've only heard the 'crunchy' sand on Karon Beach in Phuket, Thailand. I'll post a video of the sand in the comments, there's no room here anymore 😁
